Why Christmas Lights?
Sunday 9 December 2018
Thanks to Pastor James Banh for the good news this week. He was able to enlighten us (pun intended) on what the significance is of Christmas lights.
He led us through the Gospel of John who explains to us that Jesus the Son of God brought light and life to the darkness of the world.
John 1:1-5
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through Him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
Christmas is a time when we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and the coming to the dark world the light of the Lord which brings everlasting life.

The spiritual light of Jesus allows us to see our soul by replacing the darkness. It allows us to compare who we are with the example Jesus sets for us and who God wants us to be. It allows us to see the path home to God and avoid the stumbles that are the aspects of living in darkness.

Thank God for sending His Son to give us light and life, to die for our sins and to prepare our way to salvation.

Another blessed opportunity to sit in the presence of the Lord and hear the good news.
